Allen's date-night options are about to expand. The Melting Pot, a national fondue chain, will open its Watters Creek Village location in August, bringing a four-course, tableside dining experience to the shopping center's growing restaurant lineup.

The Allen restaurant will be the third Melting Pot in North Texas, joining existing locations in Addison and Arlington. Franchisees Tracie and Dan Greene, residents of nearby Lucas, will operate the restaurant, according to the company's news release.

Tracie Greene said in the release that the couple wants the restaurant to be a gathering place where the community can celebrate over a shared meal.

The Greenes are transitioning into the hospitality industry after careers in other fields. Tracie was most recently CFO and part-owner of a marketing agency, while Dan brings experience in HVAC and commercial remodeling.

The restaurant received its certificate of occupancy on July 15, as we reported Aug. 3. A business representative confirmed the August opening to Community Impact.

What's on the menu

The Melting Pot's format centers on a four-course experience: cheese fondue served with bread, fruits and vegetables; a salad course; an entrée fondue course with cooking styles such as Coq au Vin and Court Bouillon paired with proteins including shrimp, steak and chicken; and a chocolate fondue dessert course. The restaurant offers six varieties each of cheese and chocolate fondue.

Founded in Florida in 1975, the chain operates nearly 90 locations across 30 states. The Allen opening adds another sit-down, experiential dining option to Watters Creek Village, which also recently welcomed Gorjana jewelry as a new tenant.
