California jewelry retailer Gorjana is moving ahead with its Allen store, filing a $300,000 renovation permit for a 1,400-square-foot space at Watters Creek Village.

The permit, registered July 23 with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, lists the project at 907 W. Bethany Drive, Suite 5. Construction is scheduled to begin Sept. 1 and wrap up by Nov. 21, according to the state filing.

The store will sit across from Grimaldi's Pizzeria and next to Ann Taylor Loft, Watters Creek Village General Manager Eric Misch told Community Impact. Allen will be the chain's third DFW location, joining Southlake and Plano.

"We're trying to be deliberate about what brands we're bringing in to the center and that are giving customers a reason to come and stay longer," Misch said. "Gorjana is one of those brands. They were one that was on our target list of bringing into the center, being able to help elevate the tenant mix a little bit more."

Misch is also listed as the owner contact on the TDLR permit under TI Gpg Watters Creek Owner, LLC, the entity tied to the shopping center's new ownership group.

The tenant recruitment follows a change at the top. Watters Creek Village changed hands in early April when Gillon Property Group, a Dallas-based commercial real estate vehicle of the Washburne family, and New York-based Town Lane acquired the 46-acre mixed-use property from previous owners including Charter Holdings and DuWest Realty, according to the Dallas Morning News. The center spans roughly 360,000 square feet of retail and 100,000 square feet of office space along US-75.

Gillon Property Group CEO Drew Steffen said in an April interview with the Dallas Morning News that the new ownership is focused on recruiting "mid-to upper-level tenants that will appeal to the demographic that's already in the area."

Misch described Gorjana as the first of several new tenants coming to the center under the new ownership. No official opening date has been announced, but the TDLR completion date of Nov. 21 suggests a late-2026 debut. Gorjana, founded in 2004, sells necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings and charms.

The jewelry store joins a wave of recent tenant activity at Watters Creek. The Melting Pot fondue restaurant is also set to open there in August, as we reported Aug. 6.
