BMK Pharma began construction Oct. 1 on a $50 million pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Allen, a project the company says will bring more than 100 jobs to the city.

The 50,000-square-foot building will serve as BMK Pharma's U.S. headquarters and house a sterile compounding pharmacy and contract drug manufacturing operation, Dallas Innovates reported.

Company officials hosted a sign reveal Oct. 1 to mark the construction start, according to Community Impact. The facility will include office and lab space for drug development.

Founder Jay Bhaumik, a Frisco-based pharmaceutical entrepreneur, said in a statement that Allen "provides the perfect environment, with access to exceptional talent and a strong community that supports innovation."

The jobs will range from automation engineers and chemists to pharmacists and scientific researchers, the company said.

BMK Pharma produces sterile compounded medications for healthcare providers and hospital systems.

The company said it chose Allen in part because of support from the Allen Economic Development Corp.

AEDC President and CEO Dan Bowman said in a statement that the investment strengthens Allen's economy and reinforces the city's appeal for advanced manufacturers.

The construction adds to a busy stretch for Allen businesses. As we reported Oct. 6, Minneapolis-based Meritex acquired the 58-acre 121 Technology Park along State Highway 121 on Oct. 1.

The firm plans to add three buildings in early 2027, nearly doubling the park to about 740,000 square feet across seven buildings.

Several new storefronts have also opened in Allen, Community Impact reported.

Barrio Burrito Bar is now open. The fast-casual restaurant serves tacos, burritos, bowls and quesadillas.

Also open are Fyzical Therapy and Balance Centers, an orthopedic and balance rehabilitation practice; Pilates Retreat, a studio offering three class formats; Relax Myora, a massage and wellness spa; and 4Ever Young, an anti-aging clinic.

Vital Dental filed a $267,058 permit with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for a new office at 1421 Ridgeview Dr., Suite 104.

Construction was scheduled to begin Oct. 5 and finish by Jan. 8, 2027, according to the permit.

Allen's industrial corridor continues to draw investment. Average industrial rents in the Allen-McKinney submarket held at $10.36 per square foot in the first quarter of 2026, an 18.5% premium over the Dallas-Fort Worth metro average, according to a Metroport Commercial Group report published in May.

Leasing activity in the submarket totaled 611,264 square feet that quarter.

BMK Pharma has not announced a facility opening date. The company initially projected a third-quarter 2026 opening, but construction began Oct. 1.
