Allen's FFA chapter earned the National FFA Organization's highest chapter distinction, a Three-Star ranking that places the program among the top 10 percent of more than 9,500 chapters nationwide.

That's the organization's top honor.

Allen ISD announced the achievement on Monday, Aug. 24. The ranking came through the 2026 National Chapter Award Program, which evaluates chapters on leadership development, community engagement and agricultural education.

FFA advisors Stacy Schertz and Grant Brill guided the chapter through the process, which required first earning a gold rating from the Texas FFA Association before advancing to national competition. Brill also serves as an agriculture science teacher in the district.

Fewer than 10 percent of FFA chapters earn a national star ranking during summer judging. With 9,591 chapters and more than 1 million members across all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, according to National FFA data, the Three-Star designation places Allen among fewer than 960 chapters that reached that level nationally.

Allen ISD serves more than 20,800 students across 24 campuses. The district did not disclose how many students participate in the FFA chapter.

To qualify, chapters must meet National Quality Chapter Standards and execute a comprehensive Program of Activities covering three pillars: growing leaders, building communities and strengthening agriculture. Allen ISD said the chapter demonstrated excellence across all three areas.

The Three-Star rating also makes Allen FFA eligible to compete for the National Premier Chapter Awards, a further distinction recognizing the organization's top programs.

Chapter members will be recognized at the 99th National FFA Convention and Expo, which runs Oct. 21-24 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.
