Wonder, an app-based food hall that lets diners combine dishes from more than 20 restaurant brands in one order, is targeting a July completion for its Allen buildout.
No official opening date has been announced.
The concept offers dine-in, pickup and delivery, with every item made to order. Collaborations include chefs like Bobby Flay and restaurants like Tejas Barbecue, plus Wonder's own brands such as Pop Salad.
Wonder, founded by former Walmart executive Marc Lore, had grown to 140 locations nationally as of its July 2026 funding announcement, when the company closed a $650 million round at a $9 billion valuation, according to Chain Store Age.
The company said in February 2026 that it plans more than 100 Texas locations by the end of 2027.
Birkenstock building out at Allen Premium Outlets
German footwear brand Birkenstock is building out a roughly 2,500-square-foot retail space near the northwest corner of Allen Premium Outlets.
A project filing shows work running between Tuesday, July 15 and Saturday, Aug. 15, per Community Impact.
Chamber moves into The Asher after 30 years on McDermott
The Allen Chamber of Commerce celebrated its move to a new roughly 2,500-square-foot office at The Asher, a three-story multi-tenant building at 400 N. Allen Drive, Suite 101, with a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, July 15.
The city's June 2026 building permit report confirms a certificate of occupancy was issued for the suite.
More openings and updates
Several other Allen businesses are opening or changing hands:
- Mom's Cafe reopened under new owner Gilbert Romero, who also owns the original Mom's Cafe in Carrollton. The restaurant serves breakfast and lunch items including pancakes, eggs benedict, fried catfish and collard greens.
- Caffe Promenade has new owners operating under KCV Investments LLC, who plan to continue current offerings and add items such as ice cream.
- MD7, a digital infrastructure consulting firm, expanded its Allen headquarters by nearly 13,000 square feet, bringing the total to roughly 38,700 square feet, Marketing Manager Lia Green said.
- An acupuncture clinic with an existing Plano location is building out a 1,320-square-foot Allen space in a $150,000 project, with the filing listing a July completion target.
- A collectibles and home décor retailer plans a roughly 2,900-square-foot buildout at Allen Premium Outlets, with a $180,000 renovation expected to begin in September.
- Allen Civic Ballet plans to relocate to a new studio at 503 W. McDermott Drive, Suite 100. Construction is scheduled to run from Aug. 1 through Oct. 31 at a cost of $110,000, per TDLR filings. President and Artistic Director Stefanie Best said the move will bring the ballet and Allen Conservatory of Dance under one roof.
Wonder has not announced a public opening date, but its Allen location is part of the company's broader push into Texas, where it plans to operate in more than 100 locations by the end of 2027.
