Jordan Wheatley, a Democrat and fourth-grade teacher at Dallas ISD, is running for the Texas House of Representatives District 67 seat in the Nov. 3, 2026, general election.

This candidacy is listed in the Texas secretary of state’s official November 3, 2026 certification for Collin County.

Wheatley faces Republican Jeff Leach. Wheatley said on his campaign website that he is running to fight for public schools and working families.

Wheatley said on his campaign website that after his father lost his job, he helped run the family car business on a gravel lot in West Virginia. He said he became his grandmother's primary caregiver at fifteen.

School vouchers: Wheatley called the policy "a voucher scam designed to suck the money out of our neighborhood public schools to fund private education for the wealthy few," according to his campaign priorities page.

Education funding: Wheatley said the state needs to invest in classrooms, teachers and retirees, not in corporate profits. He said he wants to fight for a state that treats public schools as a priority, according to his campaign website.

Taxes and budget: Wheatley said on his campaign website that the state should stop "giving billion-dollar handouts to corporate giants" and instead invest in small businesses and families. He said he wants to lower utility bills and stop private equity from driving up healthcare costs.
