Two Allen businesses opened their doors over the summer: Timberland at Allen Premium Outlets and Koelker Dental on Exchange Parkway.

Timberland is open at 820 W. Stacy Road, Ste. 428, next to Bath & Body Works at the outlets, a company representative told Community Impact.

The retailer sells shoes, clothing and outdoor gear for men, women and children.

The city issued a $350,000 commercial building permit for the space on June 11.

The permit covered new partitions, fixtures, lighting, plumbing and storefront work, according to Allen's June building report.

The store was open by Aug. 19, when Community Impact first reported the opening.

Timberland joins a growing footwear lineup at the outlets that already includes Adidas Outlet, HeyDude, Journey's and Shoe Palace. Birkenstock has also been eyeing Allen Premium Outlets for its first Dallas-Fort Worth store, the Allen American reported.

Across town, dentist Dr. Kris Koelker opened Koelker Dental on July 2 at 960 W. Exchange Parkway, Ste. 100, in the Twin Creeks Watters Addition. Koelker grew up in Allen and graduated from Allen High School in 2003, according to Community Impact.

The city issued a certificate of occupancy for the 2,475-square-foot space on June 22, listing a valuation of $415,245, per Allen's building permit records.

Koelker offers preventive care, restorative dentistry and surgical procedures. The practice also provides IV conscious sedation for patients with dental anxiety, per its website. Office manager Ashley Koelker told Community Impact in June that the practice planned to open over the summer.

In a social media post on July 2, the practice highlighted its new equipment as it welcomed its first patients.

Between the two openings, Allen gained a combined $765,245 in permitted commercial buildout value over the summer, based on city records.
