Spencer Asuchak, the most tenured player in Allen Americans history, is coming back.
The ECHL club announced Monday, July 20, that it re-signed the veteran forward for the 2026-27 season.
Asuchak has suited up 620 times in an Americans sweater, more than any other player in franchise history, and will open his 15th professional season when Allen hits the ice in October.
"I'm fired up and ready to get things going," Asuchak said in the team's announcement.
"The organization and this community have been incredible to me and my family. I'm looking forward to chasing another championship with the best teammates and fans in the league."
Head Coach and General Manager Steve Martinson praised the Kamloops, British Columbia, native's two-way game, saying Asuchak brought physicality, strong faceoff work, and increased power-play production during the 2025-26 campaign.
Asuchak posted 32 points in 52 regular-season games and appeared in all nine of Allen's postseason contests as the Americans reached the Mountain Division Finals before falling to the Kansas City Mavericks.
The signing is the latest in a string of returning veterans. Leading scorer Brayden Watts, who tallied 75 points in 2025-26, re-signed on Tuesday, July 7. Forward Hank Crone, a former ECHL MVP, also returns.
Asuchak's Allen tenure dates to 2013, when he arrived as a rookie and put up 56 points in 66 games. He finished runner-up to teammate Alex Lavoie for the Central Hockey League Rookie of the Year Award that season.
Twelve years later, he remains a fixture on the roster of the Ottawa Senators' ECHL affiliate.
The Americans will play home games at Comerica Center in Frisco for the first time in 2026-27. The club said it set franchise records for attendance and television ratings during the 2025-26 season and will open its 18th training camp in the DFW area in October. The regular season begins on the road Saturday, October 17, against the Tulsa Oilers in Oklahoma.
Allen's home opener at Comerica Center is Thursday, October 29, against the Idaho Steelheads, with a second game Friday, October 30. Single-game tickets go on sale Monday, August 3.
