A Princeton man will spend the rest of his life in prison after a Collin County jury convicted him of sexually assaulting his 17-year-old daughter.
Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis announced on July 22 that Judge Kimberly Laseter sentenced 41 year old Leslie Price to the maximum punishment of life in prison for Prohibited Sexual Conduct.
The charge, a second-degree felony under Texas law, was enhanced because of Price's prior felony convictions.
"This verdict protects our community and delivers justice for a young victim who showed tremendous courage," Willis said in a statement released by his office.
How the case unfolded
On September 10, 2024, Amarillo Police responded to a delayed outcry of sexual assault.
The victim reported that Price, her father, had assaulted her while she lived with him in Princeton. She was three months pregnant at the time.
After a forensic interview, the case was transferred to the Princeton Police Department. Officers arrested Price shortly after.
Investigators seized two of Price's phones.
The devices contained Google searches asking whether a 17-year-old could get pregnant, ways for his daughter to obtain an abortion, and the age of consent in Texas, according to the DA's office.
The victim gave birth in March 2025. Princeton Police obtained DNA samples from Price, the victim, and the baby. Testing confirmed Price was the biological father of both his daughter and his granddaughter.
Trial and sentencing
At trial, prosecutors presented the DNA evidence. The jury found Price guilty.
During the punishment phase, the state introduced evidence of Price's prior prison sentences for Assault Family Violence and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity.
Those prior convictions allowed the court to impose a life sentence on what is normally a two-to-20-year offense.
Laseter then assessed the maximum: life in prison.
No attorney for Price was listed in the DA's announcement, and no defense statement was available.
Assistant Criminal District Attorneys Kathryn Burgess and Mollie Thompson prosecuted the case, assisted by District Attorney Investigator Michael Bennett.
The Collin County DA's office has secured several lengthy sentences in sexual abuse cases this year.
On May 5, Willis announced a 50-year, no-parole sentence for Marty Duwayne Griego, 52, of Denton, convicted of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Disabled Individual.
Willis has served as Collin County District Attorney since 2011.
