The $43 million Park Boulevard extension that will give Allen-area commuters a new east-west route near US-75 got a little more expensive when the Collin County Commissioners Court approved a $157,860.56 change order on the project.

The change order raises the total construction contract with RPM Construction to $42,932,369.01. The 2.7-mile road stretches from FM 2514 (Parker Road) east to State Highway 78 near Wylie, incorporating portions of Skyview Drive and Spring Creek Parkway. It includes a 1,300-foot bridge over CPKC railroad tracks.

Construction began September 30, 2025, with completion targeted for late fall 2027. The roadway will provide a critical east-west corridor when joined with McMillen Road and other regional routes, relieving congestion on parallel streets such as Brown Street and McCreary Road.
