Barrio Burrito Bar has opened its second Texas restaurant at 1480 N. Custer Road, Suite 140, in Allen.
The opening was first reported by Community Impact. Franchise Sales Director Jesse Castillo III confirmed the news to the outlet. The fast-casual chain's Allen outpost joins a first Texas location that opened in Round Rock in mid-May.
"The response to our first Texas location in Round Rock has been exciting, and Allen represents another important step in our continued growth …" Chief Development Officer Jeff Young said in a company news release.
The restaurant serves build-your-own tacos, burritos, bowls and quesadillas and offers catering. Sides include chips and queso, fries and churros. Signature items include Bang-Bang Shrimp, Crunchy Chicken and what the chain calls Extreme Fries, according to a company press release. A newer featured item, Dynamite Shrimp, appears on the restaurant's website.
The brand describes its food as fresh Tex-Mex made with daily-prepared meats and house-made salsas.
Barrio Burrito Bar traces its roots to barBURRITO, a Canadian chain that opened its first restaurant in downtown Toronto in 2005. That brand has grown to more than 400 locations across Canada. The concept entered the U.S. market in 2020 under the name BURRITOBAR and rebranded to Barrio Burrito Bar in 2024.
Parent company BurritoBar USA Inc. said it has surpassed 1,624 contractually committed franchise units across the country. The company operates through a Master Franchise model, with territory agreements signed in more than 20 states, including a North Texas agreement.
The Allen opening was announced alongside new locations in Collingdale, Pennsylvania; Lebanon, Tennessee; and Bridgewater, New Jersey. The company also announced a new Nevada Master Franchise agreement with franchisee Yamini Patel, calling for 32 restaurants over the next two decades.
The Allen restaurant is open at 1480 N. Custer Road, Suite 140. Hours of operation have not been publicly listed.
