Allen's August calendar is stacked with free concerts, a pool party, a Neil Simon comedy and a collectibles show. Here's what's coming between August and September 6.
Concerts by the Creek at Watters Creek Village
The free outdoor concert series on the Village Green at Watters Creek Village, 970 Garden Park Drive, is already rolling.
All shows begin at 8 p.m. with first-come, first-served seating. The schedule, according to the Watters Creek website:
- Saturday, August 1 — Chasing Angels
- Saturday, August 15 — Travelin Jed
- Saturday, August 22 — Last Call Featuring Top Brass
- Saturday, August 29 — High Octane Band
- Saturday, September 5 — Love Handle (four-piece rock-and-roll cover band)
Outside food, beverages and coolers are prohibited; only Watters Creek Village restaurants may sell beverages on-site. Guests under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Fan Fest and End of Summer Bash on August 7
The Allen High School Escadrille Marching Band and Color Guard will perform at Watters Creek Village on Friday, August 7, for Fan Fest.
The free, all-ages show features fan-favorite songs and selections from the band's 2026 marching season. The program, known as the "Biggest Band in the Land," has earned consistent UIL Sweepstakes awards and performed at the Tournament of Roses Parade.
An event listing shows a 4:30 p.m. start; Community Impact reported the performance window as 6:30–8 p.m.
That same evening, Ford Pool hosts its End of Summer Bash from 5–7 p.m. Admission is free, but registration is required. The highlight is a cannonball contest with judges scoring style, height and splash size.
Free music at the library
SaxoGram, a five-piece band covering R&B, rap, jazz, soul, country, reggae and gospel, performs at the Allen Public Library Civic Auditorium, 300 N. Allen Drive, on Friday, August 14, at 7:30 p.m.
The concert is free. It will also stream live at actv.org and You Tube.
Allen Contemporary Theatre opens Neil Simon comedy
Allen Contemporary Theatre will stage Neil Simon's "Laughter on the 23rd Floor" from Friday, August 14, through Sunday, August 30, directed by Leigh Wyatt Moore. The R-rated comedy follows an ensemble of staff writers on a 1950s TV variety show competing for the attention of a star. Tickets start at $22 at allencontemporarytheatre.net/tickets.
North Dallas Toy Show returns to Allen
The North Dallas Toy Show returns Sunday, September 6, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott Dallas Allen, 210 E. Stacy Road. Admission is $4; children 10 and younger get in free. The show features over 140 tables of collectible toys including Hot Wheels, Pokémon cards, Lego, comics and action figures. According to the show's website, it has run for more than 10 years.
