Credit Union of Texas Event Center will host three rounds of the 2026 League of Legends World Championship starting Oct. 23. Allen is the first city in tournament history to hold the Swiss Stage, Quarterfinals and Semifinals at a single venue.
The esports tournament is the largest event in a busy October that also brings the Allen Fall Fest, National Night Out and a string of family-friendly gatherings across the city.
League of Legends Worlds drew 190 million hours watched globally in 2024 and reaches audiences in more than 170 countries, according to a City of Allen news release. Previous host cities include London, Paris, Seoul and San Francisco. Past North American events generated an estimated $53 million in economic impact, the release stated.
"This is an incredible opportunity to showcase Allen on a truly global stage," Mayor Chris Schulmeister said in the release. "Hosting one of the world's premier esports events speaks to the quality of our facilities, the strength of our community and our ability to welcome visitors from around the world."
The Swiss Stage runs Oct. 23–26 and Oct. 28–31 at 200 E. Stacy Road. Tickets start at $77.65 and are available at CUTXEventCenter.com/Events. Quarterfinals follow Nov. 3–6, with Semifinals Nov. 7–8.
To accommodate the tournament, Allen Community Ice Rink will pause all regular programs, rentals and skate times from Oct. 13 through Nov. 14, the city announced.
Bill Herman, general manager of Credit Union of Texas Event Center, called the hosting "a defining moment for our venue and for Allen, Texas" in a March press release announcing Allen's selection.
Before the tournament, October opens with neighborhood events. Armor Brewing celebrates its third anniversary with Armorfest on Saturday, Oct. 3, Community Impact reported. A family session runs 11 a.m.–4 p.m.; a 21-and-over session follows from 5–11 p.m. General admission is free, with VIP packages at $65 for adults and $25 for children.
National Night Out falls on Tuesday, Oct. 6, with free block parties across Allen neighborhoods alongside Allen Police Department officers. Times and locations vary.
That same week, Monday, Oct. 5, is the last day to register to vote in Texas ahead of the Nov. 3 midterm election, KERA News reported. Texas does not allow online registration for new voters. Applications must be printed, signed and mailed to the county election office. Early voting runs Oct. 19–30.
Saturday, Oct. 10, packs three free events into one morning. Allen Fall Fest runs 9 a.m.–1 p.m. on St. Mary Drive in front of Allen Senior Recreation Center and Allen Heritage Village, with games, a petting zoo, a book sale, historical crafts and a crafters market, according to the city's event page. Parking is available at The Edge Recreation Center, with shuttle service from The Edge and Allen Public Library lots.
Across town, The Market at The Village at Allen opens 9 a.m.–2 p.m. at The Grove, 190 E. Stacy Road, featuring local farmers, artisan vendors and handcrafted goods. The Barnyard Boo Bash at The Farm, 1234 Johnson Road, runs 9 a.m.–noon with a Halloween obstacle course, face painting and a giant bounce horse.
