The standalone emergency room at 1310 W. Exchange Parkway in Allen now operates under the Methodist Richardson Medical Center umbrella after joining the health system in July.

The clinic, formerly Legacy ER & Urgent Care, rebranded as Methodist Legacy ER & Urgent Care, Community Impact first reported Aug. 25.

Staff at the Allen location confirmed the change to Community Impact. No specific date in July was given.

The facility is now classified as a department of Methodist Richardson Medical Center, a hospital in Richardson designated as a Comprehensive Stroke Center and Level III Trauma Center. Methodist Richardson is part of the Dallas-based Methodist Health System.

What's available on-site

The Allen clinic functions as both a 24/7 emergency room and a daily urgent care clinic under one roof. On-site diagnostic services include CT scans, X-rays, ultrasound, EKGs and lab work, according to the clinic's website.

The address has not changed. Residents who previously used Legacy ER & Urgent Care will find the same location and the same service categories, now branded under the Methodist name.

Part of a growing network

The Allen site is one of six Methodist Legacy ER & Urgent Care locations across the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The others are in Coppell, North Richland Hills, Prosper, McKinney and Frisco East.

The Frisco East location is the newest in the network, with the Methodist Legacy ER & Urgent Care website listing it as recently opened.

No press release or official public announcement about the Allen clinic's change has surfaced. The nature of the arrangement, whether a full acquisition, an affiliation agreement or a management contract, has not been disclosed. Financial terms are also unknown.

The Allen clinic's 24/7 emergency room remains open at the Exchange Parkway address, with urgent care available daily.
