The Allen Americans opened their 18th training camp Sunday, Oct. 4, with a Red vs. White scrimmage at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center Community Rink.

Practices are free and open to fans. Sessions are scheduled at 10:45 a.m. Oct. 5-9 and Oct. 12 at the Community Rink in Allen. All times are subject to change.

Veteran Spencer Asuchak said the roster looks stronger after an offseason of additions.

"We had a great team last season, and I believe we are even deeper headed into this season," Asuchak said in a team announcement. "We have a great mix of young talent along with some veteran leadership that will put a competitive team battling on the ice every night."

Head Coach and General Manager Steve Martinson built the deeper roster over the summer. In July, he signed forwards Anthony Rinaldi and Mathieu De St. Phalle. Martinson said at the time the team lacked a right-shot, high-end skilled forward up front. In September, he brought back Chase Maxwell, whom Martinson described when announcing the re-signing as "a lean 190 pounds" after a summer in the gym.

Several Americans also attended higher-level camps before reporting to Allen. Forwards Riley Kidney, Mark Duarte, Zackary Shantz and Chase Coughlin joined defenseman Cal Uens at the Belleville Senators' American Hockey League camp. Defenseman Andre Anania, goalie Brett Mirwald and forward Lukas Sillinger went to the Tucson Roadrunners' AHL camp. Defenseman Quinn Warmuth attended the Cleveland Monsters' camp.

The Americans, the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Ottawa Senators, are coming off a 2025-26 season that set franchise records for attendance and produced the team's highest-rated television broadcast, Star Local Media reported. That season ended with a deep playoff run.

After the Oct. 12 session, camp moves to Frisco. The lone preseason game is Saturday, Oct. 10, at 7:05 p.m. in Tulsa against the Oilers.

The regular season opens Oct. 17 in Tulsa at the BOK Center. The home opener follows Oct. 29-30 at Comerica Center in Frisco, where the Americans will play for the first time.
