The Allen Americans will play their only preseason game of the 2026-27 season on Saturday, Oct. 10, traveling to division rival Tulsa for a matchup that continues an annual exhibition tradition between the two ECHL clubs.

The team announced Tuesday, Aug. 18, that there will be no home preseason game this year, meaning the Oct. 10 road contest gives fans their first look at the roster for the team's 18th season before the regular season opens.

Allen and Tulsa will see plenty of each other early. The Americans' first regular-season game is also in Tulsa, on Saturday, Oct. 17, according to the schedule released in May.

The home opener follows against the Idaho Steelheads on Thursday, Oct. 29, at 10:30 a.m. at Comerica Center in Frisco, with a second home game Friday, Oct. 30, at 7:10 p.m.

That's a lot of Tulsa.

The Oct. 29 opener marks the first time the Americans will play at Comerica Center.

Head coach and general manager Steve Martinson has been busy reshaping the roster. In a July 30 announcement of two forward signings, Martinson said the team addressed a gap up front, adding Anthony Rinaldi and Mathieu De St. Phalle: "Last season we lacked a right-shot, high-end skilled forward up front. I expect both to score a lot of goals this year."

Leading scorer Brayden Watts returns for a third straight season after posting 75 points (24 goals, 51 assists) in 2025-26. Former ECHL MVP Hank Crone, a Dallas/Fort Worth native who won the league's top honor and Rookie of the Year Award in 2022-23 with 105 points, is back for a fourth year.

The Americans set franchise records for attendance and television ratings last season during a deep playoff run. Training camp details have not yet been announced.
